Dunno if or how this works out for you guys, but I'm wondering if the giant Wardens were at one time Norn that were captured or came voluntarily to Kurzick lands, then either through spellcasting or over time forgot how to shapeshift? The Wardens appear to be giant or half-giant size, and they are definately humaniod in nature. Same for the Norn (from what I can see). Of course, I've never seen a Warden with it's helmet off (they smell awful).|||I don't see how. There are several thousand miles of ocean seperating them, the Wardens are called the stewards of Echovald Forest, the Norn live in a frigid waste land. I just don't think it is logically or feesibly possible.|||It was my impression that the Wardens had just always been there as they are. In one of the early Kurzick quests (sorry, I'm not in a position to hunt for which one right now, so maybe I'm off base) aren't they described as being the guardians of the forest who were simply driven mad by the destruction of the Jade Wind?
By the way they were described I'd assumed they were essentially like a higher form of nature spirit, akin to the dryads, satyrs and nymphs of early European myth.
The Norns, on the other hand, almost seem to be a celtic/druidic culture who seem to be primarily human in form and bearing. You know, when they're not shapeshifted into giant, furry killing machines.|||Also, Wardens are essentially the same height as your average human, whereas a Norn is virtually the size of two humans standing on each other's shoulders.|||Quote:

Yup I believe that's exactly what happened. Much like the Kirins as well which were once peaceful and serene creatures until they became corrupted.
To me I always pinned the Wardens like lesser tree ents that had a humanoid form. In my opinion they had always existed as they were like the Tengu or Hekets, but driven mad do to the the corruption of the Echovald forest. Their lush forests frozen and turned to stone.|||The Factions Manuscripts actually do suggest that the wardens may once have been human druids, probably similar to those of the Maguuma, but who never abandoned their physical bodies and are now just corrupted by the Jade Wind or Urgoz.|||They were always bound to Urgoz, but before the time of the Jade Wind, Urgoz and his Warden followers were benevolent guardians, and the embodiment of the holy Echovald forest. When Urgoz was corrupted, so were his men.
