During the beta of Guild Wars in late December of 2004 a few others and I conducted research to uncover the lost languages, runes, glyphs and scripts for GuildWars and the world of Tyria. Today, as the evident interest in the hidden lore of GuildWars has grown, as there are many who desire to delve into the fields of Paleography, Archaeology, Paleo-Anthropology, and History, the Tyrian Academy of Sciences was founded as a group "non-guild" of like minded enthusiastic players in the said fields.
As time has gone by, we have grown from more then just a group of TW Loreseekers to a community wide effort. In doing so we have expanded the title of TAOS to all contributing lore forum members.
While all contributing lore forum members are considered TAOS members, some of you may desire to announce what you wish to be known for your specialization. Please submit which field you wish to be added to. There are a number of positions that still need Department Heads, so those interested should post their desire, and why it is them who should be picked.
While all contributing members of the lore forum are considered TAOS members, for those who want to concentrate on the research more indepth are invited to join the [TAOS] guild. Contact me ingame for information.
We will archive researched articles by the community in the Compendium of TAOS Research. What we mean by articles are threads dedicated to researched, verified, and now stated findings for a certain subjet. For the most part this will not include topics that start out with questions, or just finding a specific piece of evidense. These articles will be the cummination of all the topics, resubmitted into an actual article.

Everyone is invited to do any and all the research you desire, posting for community review. It is the responsibility of any publishing authors to do the research to verify their findings. Any usage of material from other TAOS writers must be cited. You are also responsible for taking all the viable information from your research and forum topics and compiling them into an actual Article if you decide to do so.
