1. triangular nose
2. two large fangs
3. beady eyes
4. connection with the bloodstones
Any thoughts?|||The center skulls are a common design throughout the Depths of Tyria, it can even be seen in the arches within Sorrow's Furnace (particularly to the southwest). It's a very common design and more than likely has next to nothing to do with the bloodstone even at Bloodstone caves - the bloodstone probably just fell into the ruins/past the ruins of a sunken structure (sunken over time, mind you, all of the Depths of Tyria predate humanity on Tyria (whether this is continent or world is unknown still, I'm guessing continent considering all the humanoid statues and the gods' statues - unless they were renovated by humanity).
So yeah, the arches at Bloodstone Caves... they predate the bloodstone. ;)|||I don't think that's an accurate assessment, unless the door was a later addition and the arch was modified to act in accordance with the door's locking mechanism.|||I'll break this down:
- The arches being created with the intent of the guarding the bloodstone, designed after the RoF skulls.
- Fact (provided by the Eye of the North manual): The structures in the Depths of Tyria predate humanity - and in turn, they predate the bloodstones.
- The door has an inscription akin to what was most likely put on the bloodstones after their splitting - but are almost infallibly not natural to the bloodstones (given that 1) the one in the caves doesn't have the inscription, 2) the inscription appears to be the sole component in utilizing souls, and 3) the inscription is on other objects and in turn materials)
- The door and arch in question were modeled after the pre-existing Depths of Tyria structures.
- The door and arch were modified after the bloodstone fell.
- The door and arch had a lock with the inscription on it before the bloodstone fell.
The first two are most likely, in my opinion, and the third would imply that all structures that share the designs of the arch/door in the Depths would in turn be related - directly or indirectly - to the mursaat (which is already plausible, as the mursaat, like the depths, predate humanity).
Either way, the design of the arch is unlinked to the bloodstone in any way I can think of.|||*shrug*
Standard demonic imagery, IMO.|||The second conclusion is mainly what I was getting at.|||Yes, I know. I added that conclusion based on your statement (though I probably would of thought of it even if you didn't bring it up if I felt it necessary to point out the possibilities).
