We know that when mortals are killed they are one way or another sent to the mists, whether it be the Underworld, the Hall of Heroes, or somewhere different. What is never explained and has always bugged me is where it is spirits go when they are destroyed. When you kill a ghost in the Underworld, when a demon or a margonite is destroyed in the Realm of Torment, where do they go? Spirits are presumably bound energy, and if it's anything like real life, energy can't be destroyed (or created), only transferred.
So, if this is true in the Guild Wars universe, do the spirits go somewhere, or does their energy just leak out into the universe, becomming nothing more then energy?
What's everyone's take on this? I'd really like to know where Varesh, Shiro, and the Lich have gone after second death.|||probably purified away from Abaddon's influence|||I take it that they "cease to exist"|||I think they go back to the centre and come back out 'recharged' again
e.g.
-Art|||I would agree that the bound energy probably becomes unbound energy and they simply cease to exist in any meaningful way.|||I think the most probably answer is that they would simply dissipate into nothingness. If we do, however, presume that the spirits are bound energy and assume that the physics remain the same (however undoubtedly as we cannot create fireballs to chuck at people in our hands [unfortunately]), then we can assume that the energy becomes something else. Possibly the energy goes to the realm where spirits venture towards and expand the realm itself. At any rate, the supposition that the world of Guild Wars follows the same physics as real-world just complicates things.|||Well, when I jump, I come back down. So there is an element of physics that can't be ignored. I believe whether magic or not, the laws of physics are the same. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only conserved. Think about it, that's why you have a energy bar and can't unlimitedly spam spells and what not. Even in a world of magic, there is physics.|||They turn into ambient energy, to be converted to something else billions of years later.|||We can also go with Reincarnation, that when a spirit dies it's energy will be used to create a new being.
Or it goes back into The Mists.|||There doesn't seem to be any basis for reincarnation in Guild Wars. At least, nothing we've seen so far.
